Fathom Slim ROV Tether (by the meter)
This professional-grade tether combines rugged strength and durability with high-performance electrical characteristics for wide-ranging ROV and subsea applications. Built with a polyurethane jacket for improved flexibility and better adhesion to potting materials.
This tether really shines when it comes to it’s size. It’s slim profile makes it ultra low-drag, making it ideal for deep dives, high current dives, and long distance dives where the drag from the tether is really noticeable. The size also makes it incredibly portable and easy to handle. A hundred meter tether weighs just 3 lb (1.4 kg) and can be managed by hand very easily.
What’s Included
The BlueROV2 comes partially assembled with the electronics tested. Assembly can be completed in about 6–8 hours with hand tools. The following lists the included subassemblies and other components of the BlueROV2 base package.

What’s Not Included
There are some items necessary for operation that are not included with the kit.
- A gamepad controller. We recommend the Xbox One Wireless Controller sold in our store.
- A laptop or a Windows 10 tablet that meets the recommended system requirements (see system requirements in the Technical Details). The topside control software, QGroundControl, works on Mac, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux.
- A 4S battery for the BlueROV2. Here are our recommendations:
- A battery charger, such as our Lithium Battery Charger.
