Our history
JM Robotics was established in 2016 by Johan Hellstrøm and Magnus Kjelland-Olsen — two man with extensive experience in ROV, offshore, and diving operations.
The company has quickly grown to become one of Scandinavia's leading suppliers of small, ROV systems and custom designs. JM Robotics AS operates from Kristiansund on the Møre coast, but delivers products and services to clients across Northern Europe.

JM Robotics focuses on high-quality and cost-effective solutions that will be preferred in increasingly competitive markets for our customers.
JM Robotics was founded to pave the way for a more environmentally friendly and efficient future, with the goal of bringing positive change to the industry.
JM Robotics AS is a technology company located in Kristiansund. Since 2016, we have been developing products for underwater use. We also import components for our ROV from one of the world's most innovative companies in this field, Blue Robotics Inc. We develop our own ROV to maintain high standards and quality. This ROV is designed to be stationed on fixed underwater installations and operated remotely.

A "gazelle company" is a rapidly growing and successful enterprise that has experienced swift growth over a short period. We received 3 awards for rapid growth between 2021 and 2023.
For the third consecutive year, JM Robotics has been awarded the Gazelle Prize and received the prestigious diploma confirming strong progress. We surpassed 20 employees and have now delivered approximately 300 ROVs nationally and internationally. 2023 was also the year we moved to new place in Melkvika Business Park and completed software that simplifies the execution, workflow, and documentation of ROV inspections called JM Connect.
In 2024, we started the year with an exciting initiative. We dedicated a significant portion of the team to a full month of development. This is to ensure we can deliver even higher quality and ensure that the latest technology on the market is made available to our customers.
IT STARTED IN A GARAGE
The company was founded by Johan Hellstrøm and Magnus Kjelland-Olsen, who began designing and building ROVs from a garage in Kristiansund.
OUR FIRST CUSTOMER
We delivered our very first ROV system to a player in the Norwegian oil industry.
A GROWING COMPANY
Production ramped up, and we sold a significant number of ROVs to the aquaculture industry, including multiple systems to one of the country's largest aquaculture companies.
WE ARE HIRING
We made our first two hires: a software developer and a product developer, joining Johan and Magnus.
100% LOCAL
For the first time, we delivered an ROV system that was 100% locally produced to a fish farming facility in Northern Norway.

We were awarded the Gazelle diploma by DN for being one of Norway's fastest-growing companies.

We proudly earned the title of "Gazelle Company" for the second consecutive year.

With over 20 employees, the company has delivered around 300 ROVs nationally and internationally. Recently, we moved to new facilities in Melkvika Næringspark and successfully launched the JM Connect software.

We aim to create the systems that we ourselves desired when working out at sea, and we have the expertise necessary to develop software and ROV systems to streamline tasks, reduce costs, and make workplaces at sea safer.

Our facilities are custom-tailored for our work, designed to enable us to perform at our best.
